Comparison

TradieSwap vs MyBuilder

The model is similar. You join free, you choose which jobs to go for, you pay when the customer picks you. The differences are the published price, the two-way reviews, and the refund rules written on this site.

The similar bit

Both are marketplaces, not directories. A homeowner posts a job. Trades express interest. The customer shortlists. The platform charges the trade for the introduction. Neither of us is the builder.

The differences

TradieSwap

  • Lead fees published in four bands, from £4.99 + VAT to £24.99 + VAT, including jobs over £8,000.
  • Customer may select up to 5 trades.
  • Two-way reviews after the job is marked complete. You can see how other trades rated that customer before you bid.
  • Refund Policy lists when we will refund (fake or dead job, our contact-detail error, duplicate/billing error) and when we will not (silence, lost the work, did not like the budget).

MyBuilder

  • Also charges a shortlist fee when details are shared.
  • Their fee is shown in their checkout and varies by job. We do not invent their tariff here.
  • Reviews are of the trade.
  • Paying a shortlist fee on either site does not mean you won the work.
