Reviews Policy

Summary: Reviews on TradieSwap work both ways — customers rate trades and trades rate customers. Reviews open only when a job is marked complete on the platform, they are not anonymous, and both sides see the scores before deciding who to work with.

1. When you can leave a review

A review can be left only when the job is marked complete on TradieSwap. Paying a lead fee alone does not unlock a review — the work has to have been arranged through the platform and finished.

Each side can leave one review per job: the customer reviews the trade, and the trade reviews the customer.

2. Reviews are not anonymous

Reviews show the reviewer's display name (customers) or business name (trades). This keeps both sides accountable, because everyone stands behind their words.

3. What is scored

Customers rate trades on:

  • Quality of work
  • Timekeeping
  • Tidiness
  • Communication
  • Value / fairness of quote
  • Would hire again

Trades rate customers on:

  • Communication
  • Access & punctuality
  • Prompt payment
  • Accuracy of the job
  • Fairness / respect

A short written comment is optional on both sides.

4. Trusted Customer badge

A customer earns a Trusted Customer badge when their average review score reaches 4.0 or above. If their average falls below 4.0, the badge is removed.

5. Banned reviews

We remove reviews that are fake, paid for, abusive, discriminatory, left from an off-platform arrangement, or that contain contact details or spam. Creating fake reviews or reviews for a business you have not worked with through the platform may lead to account suspension.

6. When we remove a review

We may remove reviews that break this policy. We do not remove a review just because it is negative — genuine experiences, good or bad, belong on the platform.

7. Disputing a review

If you believe a review about you breaks this policy, contact info@tradieswap.co.uk. Tell us which review and why you think it breaks the rules; we review each case on its merits.

8. Reviews and your data

Reviews are personal data. How we store, publish and remove them is explained in our Privacy Policy.

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep the site working, and analytics cookies to understand how it's used — only if you accept. See our Cookie Policy.
